Second Sight An Away From Keyboard Romantic Suspense Standalone edition by Patricia D Eddy Romance eBooks Reviews
- All of the characters in this series are veterans dealing with histories that have left them scarred, physically and emotionally, this holds true with Dax and, in her own way, Evianna. They've been through hell and just may be the only hope each has to find that elusive happy ever after we all want for ourselves and our friends.
Dax is inspiring in the way he finds ways to live a full life yet human enough to show the struggle it takes to deal with something as simple as reconnecting with someone who was once his brother in every way but birth viewed as having betrayed him by merely being human.
Evianna is brilliant, which can be trying in its own way, not to mention bring enemies out of the woodwork. Her struggles to uncover who is sabotaging her life-changing project, even resorting to attempted murder, lead her to Dax and his protection.
In addition to the cast of human characters who will draw you in with their histories and struggles, there is a mystery that will keep you struggling to figure out just who is behind the events that led to these two people meeting and proving that there truly is someone for everyone, scarred though they may be.
Everyone between the front and back covers is not just a character but a person with their own history, beliefs, and feelings. Every action has a purpose, though it might not be immediately obvious. The dialogue moves the story along as well as providing insight into the person speaking.
It won't take you long to fall in love with Dax and Evianna, cheering them on and fussing at them when they fail to see they're meant for each other and fighting the inevitable.
This is a love story, but it the reader who falls in love with the main characters! - This story was rough on me in parts, the pain and suffering that Dax went through is gut wrenching. Watching this amazing strong man in his struggle to just be, well it was perfect. The way this story is told, the history it shares, the damage done to Dax, all built a foundation for an amazingly addictive love story.
Evianna, probably spelled wrong, sorry!! She Sees Dax, not his wounds, his disability, she sees the man inside.
Can they both be strong enough to overcome his past, his fears and let's not to forget the trouble stalking her!
The build up in this was amazing, and I was a newbie to this world, had zero problems following along.......matter of fact it made me go get the others and binge read them too........she's gotten me hooked on these stories. Be happily stalking now to see if there's more coming......it will be a one click purchase, guaranteed. - Loved every page, even if I was on tenterhooks waiting to see how the latest bit of suspense was going to play out. Action, suspense, heart and heat. All the best parts to make a great story.
- This book popped up in my FB feed and looked good so I got a sample. Devoured the sample in one sitting and one-clicked to buy. I have not read the previous books in the series, but will be going backwards to read them now.
The characters felt real, flawed but sincere. The writing was great. It’s a full length story that does not end on a cliff hanger, but leaves you wanting more.
Definitely recommend! - I absolutely loved these two characters as they experienced getting to know each other and rediscovering themselves. I felt a special affinity to Dax since my husband was left sight impaired after surgery for a brain tumor. His world was turned upside down and the adjustment to this new world was difficult to say the least
- This was a great story, I loved it and could not put it down, the ending was so WONDERFUL, I was so happy for the characters. I will now add Patricia D. Eddy as a favorite author...
- This was my first book by this author. I have already bought another one. She is a good writer. She keeps you involved from page one until the end.
- I think this may be my favorite book in the series. This series was fantastic. This book had me on the edge of my seat.
